Having trouble with perspiring armpits while riding the train or jeepney during the rush hour? A mini-fan designed in Japan can make commuters’ woes “cool off.”

Japanese gadget manufacturer Thamko has invented the trendy fan prototype called “Under the Armpit Cooling Device”, or Waki no Shita Kura in Japanese. It is a miniature fan that is clipped under your sleeve and designed to whirl air to make your sweaty armpits and other sweat-prone areas of your body become “cool and fresh.”

The prototype can also be operated with two AAA batteries for five to nine hours. A 35-centimeter (13.8-inch) USB cord is used to charge the gadget.

Thamko is also the manufacturer of the chic and fashionable “bladeless” mini-fan, which can be a “life-saver” for train passengers.

The Armpit Cooling Device is priced at 1,980 yen (P892) for a single unit and 3,800 (P1,712) for a set of two, which can be ordered online.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
