Forecast: Apple Watch 2 to be released September

An analyst predicts that the Apple Watch 2 will be launched with the same look but sporting band-new specifications such as GPS and an internal SoC.  Image INQUIRER.net

An Apple analyst has predicted that the technology company’s Watch 2 would be released later this year and possibly alongside the iPhone 7.

Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI also predicted that the appearance of the Apple Watch 2 would take the path of iPhone S. Thus, a thinner Watch 2 would seem to be out of the question. It is in the future Apple Watch 3 that the more major changes in design could be expected he said.

Some of the major changes in Watch 2, he said, would include a barometer, GPS, waterproofing and a new internal system on a chip (SoC) for better performance, according to a report on 9To5Mac.

An interesting forecast made by KGI is that, apart from Watch 2, the company may release alongside it a souped-up version of the original Apple Watch with updated specs.
