Many people are currently enjoying playing Pokémon Go but someone thought that flicking  a finger on a screen is not the proper way to throw a pokéball. So they got on the drawing board and made the Pokémon Go game controller.

Shaped like an official Pokémon trainer ball, or pokéball, the kinetic controller allows users to use gestures to throw the virtual pokéball on the Pokémon Go app. It will feel like a Wii-mote or Playstation Move stick if used like this.

However, the best part about this device is that users can also throw the ball at the pokémon and the app will respond as if the in-app pokéball had been thrown. It uses a combination of face detection algorithm, accelerometer data, and bluetooth connectivity to make this happen. Given the function, it would be safe to assume that using the ball this way would require the AR function on the Pokémon Go app to be switched on.

The trainer ball is made of soft, rubberized foam material that is sturdy enough to survive repeated impacts with the ground.

Last but not the least, the trainer ball also addresses the most important factor that Pokémon Go is responsible for–smartphone battery life. The trainer ball is also a stylish powerbank with a USB 2.0 port.

To all dedicated Pokémon Go players out there, you may check out the Kickstater campaign and pledge your support for the project. As of this writing, $16,189 has been raised out of the $25,000 target, with 41 days left to go.  Alfred Bayle
