A Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) employee caught playing Pokémon Go during office hours led to the agency’s banning of the popular game and other multiplayer online games (MOGs) for being “highly inappropriate in all government offices.”
In a memorandum to its employees issued late Tuesday, CAAP deputy director general for administration Manuel Antonio Tamayo described playing online games during office hours, “either on desktop or laptop computers, on local area network or wireless LAN, as well as iPhone and Android applications,” as “highly inappropriate in all government offices.”
Among the games the official mentioned were Clash of Clans, Pokémon Go and Candy Crush.
Those caught violating the prohibition will be charged administratively and penalized under Civil Service laws, Tamayo added.
