Police arrested a Florida man with two outstanding warrants and a drug case after he posted his own “Wanted of the Week” poster as his Facebook profile picture.
On Monday last week, police from Stuart, Florida, responded to a crucial call of an alleged battery incident when the suspect, 42-year-old Mack Yearwood, escaped the scene.
Based on the victim’s description, the suspect was identified and discovered to be wanted for previous charges of battery, according to ABC News. Moreover, Yearwood’s Facebook account displayed his previous “Wanted of the Week” poster as his profile picture last March.
“The patrol guys, to look where he was and for some intelligence, they went to his Facebook page,” Corporal Brian Bossio told ABC News. “They discovered that he used his wanted poster for his Facebook profile.”
On Tuesday, police managed to arrest Yearwood, who was also slapped with a drug case after he was found with “a bag of weed.”
“Facebook is a great way to communicate and connect with old friends and family,” the post written on Stuart Police Department’s Facebook page read. “If you are wanted by the police, it’s probably not a good idea to use the “Wanted of the Week” poster of yourself as your profile pic.” Gianna Francesca Catolico/rga
