Japanese video game publisher Bandai Namco has announced an expansion of its hit arcade-fighting game “Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4.”
The follow-up game, dubbed as “Road to Boruto,” will be headlined by the titular character’s son, Boruto Uzumaki, who will embark on his own adventure similar to what his father traversed in the prior adaptations.
Players will be able to experience the events of the 2015 film “Boruto: Naruto the Movie,” and will be able to view events from the character’s perspective via an all-new adventure mode, as per reports from gamespot.com.
Apart from the exciting new game play, the game will also introduce new characters from the film, Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha confirmed.
The two characters were previously only available to players who had pre-ordered “Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4” at specific retailers, the report said.
The highly anticipated sequel will also feature the climatic battle between one of the franchise’s most revered characters, Sasuke Uchiha, against the mysterious Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki.
Users will also be able to explore new areas in the Hidden Leaf Village and familiarize themselves with the new characters in both offline and online Free Battle Mode.
“Ultimate Ninja Storm 4: Road to Boruto” will be released digitally on several consoles in Europe—including PS4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. The expansion will roll out on Feb. 3, 2017, with a launch price of $20 (P957).
There is no word yet on the game’s release in other regions as of this writing.
It’s predecessor, “Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4,” meanwhile, was released in February this year on the same consoles. The game received positive reviews in the US, placing fourth in physical sales charts for the month of February upon release.
