Move over, “Oppa Gangnam Style.” There is a new “wacky” dance craze that social media is grooving on nowadays.

Japanese singer-songwriter Piko-Taro recently fired his dance craze, “Pen Pineapple Apple Pen,” and many merry Japanese youths and social media celebrities began swinging to the viral dance hit.

As seen on the epic track, Piko-Taro wore his signature yellow garments and animal-print scarf while dancing to his bizarre jingle about mixing a pen, pineapple and apple.

According to Japanese trendy site Spoon and Tamago, Piko-Taro is a fictional character performed by stand-up comedian-DJ Kosaka Daimaou, 43, whose real name is Kazuhito Kosaka. He was born in Aomori City, Japan, and appeared in the 2012 film “Karasu No Oyayubi” (By Rule of Crow’s Thumb).

Kosaka began calling attention to the hilarious character, dedicating a separate Twitter and YouTube account in August.
