An enraged Apple customer took his grudges against Apple “in his own hands.”
On Thursday, the customer invaded an Apple Store in Dijon, France. Carrying a palm-sized steel ball used in the French bowling game pétanque, he smashed 12 iPhone units, an iPod Touch and a MacBook Air gadget displayed on the store.
Footage of the incident was uploaded by Twitter user Quentin_iOS but was immediately taken down and reuploaded on YouTube. In the two separate clips posted on the video-streaming site, the customer was filmed unyieldingly pounding the gadgets and then clamoring about his “customers’ rights” and his dissatisfaction at how the tech giant handled his support case, Le Journal reported.
“Ladies and gentlemen, Apple is a company that violated European consumers’ rights!” he exclaimed in French.
He added, “They refused to reimburse me, I told them ‘Give me my money back.’ They said no. So you know what’s happening? This is happening.”
The shopping mall’s security personnel escorted him out of the store and took him to the Central Police. The lawsuit’s prosecutor told French media that the damages amounted to €50,000 (P 2.7 million). Gianna Francesca Catolico
