The e-sports community suffered a loss on Sunday with the sudden passing of “Call of Duty” professional gamer Philip Klemenov in a car accident in Aurora, Colorado, USA.

The 23-year-old, who was best known by his online moniker Phizzurp, was among the most recognizable names of first-person shooter’s competitive gaming scene.

Shortly after his demise, London-based e-sports organization H2k-Gaming took to Facebook to honor their fallen comrade.

“Today we lost a beloved H2K family member. Phillip “Phizzurp” Klemenov passed away earlier today (Sunday). Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all of those who were lucky enough to have him in their lives. Rest in peace Phil, we will always miss you,” the post read.

According to Yahoo News, Klemenov wrapped up his final gaming live stream just hours before the crash. His girlfriend, Adrianna Lemus, confirmed that the gaming pro was driving the vehicle when he lost control and hit a pole, along with several trees.

She also addressed his death in an emotional video on Twitter.

Lemus’ pain was also shared by Klemenov’s 183,000 Twiiter followers, as they paid their respects online.
