While Samsung had previously focused on creating budget-friendly Chromebooks, a tipster has uncovered information about a Chromebook Pro targeted for more discerning customers.
Chrome Unboxed apparently uncovered store listings as well as a landing page for a Chromebook Pro model from Samsung that is designed for the high-end market, reports Engadget.
The information stated that the device will have a 12.3-inch form factor and a Chromebook Flip-style 360-degree touchscreen with a pen. With a 2400 x 1600-resolution display, this can easily turn the Chromebook into a handheld drawing tablet.
This Chromebook Pro is also said to be encased in a “full metal” chassis that is only .55 inches thin at it’s thickest point. Within it is a six-core 2GHz ARM processor, improved compatibility with Android apps, and a supposed 10-hour battery life.
If the information holds true, customers may expect this $499 high-end Chromebook Pro by Oct. 24. It may be a bit pricey compared with other Chromebooks in the market, but the increased Android app compatibility may make it worthwhile. Alfred Bayle
