For sure, Chloe Grace Moretz will flout the biggest and most ubiquitous stereotype of gamers.
The Hollywood actress partnered with companies Dell and Alienware for a trilogy series about the current perceptions of online gamers, which will be released on YouTube on Monday.
In the episode sample uploaded on Alienware’s YouTube account on Monday, Moretz visits the Rooster Teeth, an American production titan, in its headquarters in Austin, Texas, USA. During her visit, she plays Rocket League, a virtual soccer game, with members of Rooster Teeth channel “Achievement Hunter.”
Achievement Hunter gaming celebrities featured in the series were Gavin Free, Michael Jones, Jack Pattillo, Ryan Haywood and Jeremy Dooley.
“I think Dell is doing interesting stuff and using their gigantic platform to better the world and provide real social commentary,” Moretz told Mashable. “They reached out to me to see if I had anything that I felt should be talked about—and this was a big thing for me. Everyone always acts they are so shocked to hear I’m a female gamer. They thought it was so crazy.”
Moretz, 19, is not a rookie in the gaming field; she was a professional and competitive gamer who always bested her brothers. Gaming has been distinguished as a field “dominated” by males and she wants to empower women like her in the virtual gaming universe.
“Gaming was one of the ways we could even the playing field. I could kick his butt,” she elucidated to the news site. Gianna Francesca Catolico/rga
