Getting flagged down by traffic authorities usually ends up getting a citation ticket, but one motorist got an engagement ring instead.
A certain Mikki and his girlfriend literally stopped traffic in the middle of a busy intersection in Calamba City as the former proposed to her, who was unaware about what was to happen.
Facebook user John Khyan Nazaredo Villanueva posted a video of his uncle’s over-the-top proposal that involved a willing traffic enforcer and a group of motorcycle riders.
According to the post, which has since gone viral, it took two weeks for his uncle Mikki to come up with the plan to surprise his now fiancée Cheann.
The pair, who rode on a motorbike, were stopped by a traffic officer due to a supposed violation. As Mikki was about to receive his ticket, he got down on one knee while Willie Revillame’s “Ikaw na Nga” blasted from the background.
A group of motorcycle riders who, together with the future bridegroom, belonged to a riders’ club, circled the pair and blew their horns in approval.
In his post, Villanueva apologized for the inconvenience caused by his uncle’s actions and said that they had received a permit from the Mayor’s Office to use the intersection for a few minutes.
As of writing, his video has been shared by over 15,000 users. Khristian Ibarrola
