In the previous month, WhatsApp was working on a beta build of the Android app that would allow for video calling functions. Now the feature is officially rolling out to Android, iOS and Windows versions of its app.
This is a big step for the service as it places it closer to competing apps such as Facebook Messenger and Line, reports The Next Web.
WhatsApp also recently implemented GIF support for the iOS as well as started testing on a Snapchat-like feature that would allow users to draw or add stickers on a “Status.”
The video calling feature will be made available globally in the next few days. Alfred Bayle
