Samsung received a lot of negative attention when the Note 7 went down the drain and then competitor Google successfully launched its Pixel phones. But come 2018, the company intends to get back its lost street cred with a shocking Galaxy S8 design.
The Verge reports that the new flagship phone will be receiving an “all-screen” design, which basically aims to get rid of the black bar found at the top and bottom of a smartphone’s front area. Of course this leaves no room for a home button. So far, the closest device to eliminate most of the bezel has been the Xiao Mi MIX. But even it left the bottom bezel intact.
A Bloomberg report says that Samsung is planning to use a virtual home button in place of the traditional physical one. It says that the virtual button “will be buried in the glass in the lower section.”

The report continues to add that there will be more than one version of the Galaxy S8. Most likely these will be in different sizes like the S7’s 5.1- and 5.5-inch variants.
To cap things off, a March release of the previously delayed S8 is the current target for Samsung. With the company mostly keeping to its release trend year after year, it’s exciting to see the kind of product that could be revealed at next year’s Mobile World Congress in February. Alfred Bayle
