When it first launched, Pokémon GO seemed like a runaway success, being one of the most anticipated and downloaded apps for a period of time. Now that the hype has died down, Niantic hopes that adding more content to the game can entice players back.
Come Dec. 12, an official announcement will be made concerning the details of the update. Apart from new Pokémon, there will be in-game events themed for wrapping up the year.
Niantic has also announced a partnership with US provider Sprint that involves utilizing over 10,500 Sprint locations in the US for a special Pokémon GO experience. These locations will become PokéStops and Gyms where trainers can battle and stock up on Poké Balls as well as Razz Berries. Sprint stores will also have in-store charging stations for trainers who are running low on juice for their smartphones. Alfred Bayle
