In a perfect display of a pet’s unconditional love for its owner, a dying man’s beloved pooch stayed beside him as he took his final breath.

Thirty-three-year-old Ryan Jessen passed away last month in a hospital in California after succumbing to a ventricular brain hemorrhage.

After doctors revealed that Jessen would most likely lose his life in just a couple of minutes, the family’s pet boxer, Mollie, was allowed to enter his room to bid him goodbye.

The heart-warming clip was shared by his sister Michelle on Facebook, with the caption: “The hospital did the sweetest thing for us and allowed us to bring my brother’s dog in to ‘say goodbye’ so she’d know why her human never came home.”

“If you knew my brother, he really loved his sweet dog,” she added.

The 30-second video became a viral hit on social media and has eclipsed over 11 million views, with thousands of users offering their condolences to the Jessen household.

“Thank you to everybody for the outpouring of support, but I won’t be responding anymore. We are sincerely touched and humbled by others’ stories, their sharing in our sadness and the kindness of so many people,” Michelle wrote.

She also assured netizens that Mollie will be taken care of, saying “she’s part of the family.”

In a separate post, Michelle also revealed that they would donate Ryan’s heart to a 17-year-old boy in need. Khristian Ibarrola
