Everyone’s favorite Italian plumber has finally made his way to mobile gaming, as Nintendo launched the much-awaited ‘Super Mario Run’ for iOS users on Thursday (Friday in Manila).

The latest of the ever popular Super Mario franchise, which has been released in 151 countries and regions, is the first mobile game developed by the Japanese gaming titan, under a partnership with mobile gaming firm DeNA.

The app, however, will only be free for only a few levels and users will be charged $9.99 (P499) for full access. It also requires a stable internet connection to play.

While the free-to-play section is limited to low-level stages, anyone can still download the game, according to a Fortune report.

The game’s basic premise remains the same with its console counterparts, as players will direct Mario through a series of obstacle courses while collecting coins along the way.

At higher levels, users will be able to compete with other players’ scores and create their very own “kingdom” within the game.

Meanwhile, app analytics firm SensorTower suggests that the game is expected to reach worldwide gross revenue of over $71 million in its first month—which is half of the $143 million that the popular game Pokemon Go garnered a few months back.

Nintendo has yet to release a statement on when the game will be available for Android users. Khristian Ibarrola
