Details about the Nintendo Switch are still hard to come by, so every little bit of information helps to feed the curiosity.
A recent filing at the FCC indicates that the much-awaited hybrid console will not be getting a removable battery pack for its tablet component, reports Engadget.
However, it should be noted that what the FCC reviewed was a production prototype that would be made to equal the mass-produced model. As such, Nintendo may yet opt for a removable battery unit for the final product. But given recent tablet and smartphone designs that favored non-removable batteries, Nintendo could still push for this battery type.
In any case, most consumers are now accustomed to carrying a spare battery pack to charge power-hungry smartphones. Adding another device to the charging rotation shouldn’t be much of a stretch. Alfred Bayle
