CES is all about tech companies putting their best foot forward to wow consumers and floor judges. Razer has achieved this with their 3-screen Project Valerie gaming laptop.
Project Valerie appears to be no larger than the average gaming laptop with a 17-inch monitor. But once fully deployed, twin 4K IGZO monitors slide out from behind the main one and automatically position themselves at the optimum angle, reports Kotaku.
As with Razer aesthetics, these extra displays even have their own LED bling for ambient lighting.
Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO says, “Multi-monitor desktop set-ups are becoming more necessary for professionals, creators, and gamers.”
While Project Valerie looks awesome as a concept machine, the likelihood of consumers taking home one is rather unlikely. For starters, Razer’s Blade Pro, which is the base of Project Valerie, starts off at $3,700. A consumer version of Project Valerie is likely to get up to as much as $5,000 (roughly PhP 250,000).
There is also the question of how well the laptop’s GPU(s) will handle having 12K resolution. But as far as wow-factor goes, Razer definitely got people’s attention. Alfred Bayle
