For those looking for a new tablet to buy, Apple is currently working on three new iPads that could hit the market in the latter part of 2017.

The Next Web reports that information on the three new iPads came from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. There will be three models which measure 12.9-, 10-10.5-, and 9.7-inches, respectively. The largest will be powered by a new A10X chip while the rest will run on Samsung-made A9 processors.

This piece of information apparently indicates the release of a second-gen iPad Pro and a higher-end version of the iPad Air 3.

What comes into question is the viability of putting out new Apple iPads. Apple’s software has not been improved greatly in recent times nor has the company particularly made the product more compelling for consumers. With lower priced Android tablets prevalent in the market, Apple might struggle to maintain its market share in the coming year.

Android-based tablets are offering functionalities similar to Apple tablets but at a much lower premium, and this has led to the success of these Android options. Now that the latest Mac has been released, it may be taken as a sign that Apple will be putting more effort into making its tablets more appealing to consumers. Alfred Bayle
