A portrait of an Uber driver who is hard of hearing has inspired netizens from all walks of life.
Awed by his endurance despite his disability, Twitter user Deen Samson shared a photo of her driver, a former soldier, on Monday with the caption, “I salute you kuya for your service!” The photo displays a note hanging on the back the drivers’ seat that reads, “Your Uber driver is hard of hearing due to his service in the Philippine Army. Please be patient with him. Thank you.”
Her heartening post touched the hearts of thousands of netizens. As of this writing, her tweet has been shared 2,300 times and liked 15,000 times.
One Twitter user, who managed to recognize the driver, disclosed that the elderly driver lost his hearing due to a “canon fire in Sulu.”
