Amazon has expanded their channel service to now include anime shows. This new service is called Anime Strike.
Anime Strike is the company’s first own-brand on-demand option for the Channels service. It is currently only available to Prime members in the U.S. and offers a variety of genres for various age groups, including adult content, reports Engadget.
It’s library of anime titles will include classics as well as titles that are presently being aired in Japan. These include this season’s shows such as Scum’s Wish (Kuzu no Honkai) and The Great Passage. Some of the older favorites include Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika.
The Anime lineup will be refreshed on a weekly basis with some shows being streamed on the same day as the Japanese broadcast. Michael Paull, Amazon’s vice president of digital video, told Variety that they plan to reveal more genre-specific on-demand options in the future.
Subscription for Anime Strike is priced at $5 (P250) a month, with a one week trial, free of charge. Alfred Bayle
