It’s no secret that Apple’s iOS software is as unique and as delicate as they come. But much like any other device, the seemingly impenetrable software could also be prone to various security glitches.
Iphone users have been warned recently after reports of a relatively harmless emoji-filled text message could make their system freeze and crash in an instant.
The delicate matter first came to light through a video uploaded by user EverythingApplePro—who is famous for documenting glitches in the world’s most popular smartphone.
Dubbed as the ‘poison text’, the glitch is simply composed of the white flag emoji, a zero, and the rainbow emoji side-by-side.
Sending it to iPhone users who are currently running iOS 10 will immediately cause their phone to malfunction. Users don’t even have to open the message for the set of symbols to wreak its havoc, the video confirmed.
Furthermore, users seeking revenge cannot also resend the text to anyone, as the system will once again crash the moment the message is pasted.
Still, the affected phones will remain functional and can be turned back on after three to five minutes without any complications.
In some cases, some users remain locked out of the phone’s messages app up until the initial text is deleted using the Safari web browser. Khristian Ibarrola
