The Smart 13th SWEEP (Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program) Innovation and Excellence Awards has reached its culmination today, February 9, with the top 10 entries battling for first place at the Mind Museum in Bonifacio Global City.
SWEEP Awards was launched in 2004 to provide college students with the platform to create innovative applications that solve consumer pain points. It is also the country’s biggest technology competition.
Each of the 10 finalists from over 230 applicants are asked to make their final presentation to the judges. The team with the best project will later on be adjudged as the winner and receive the award.
The top team will receive P300,000 while the school represented will receive a P150,000-grant. The second and third placers will receive P200,000 and P100,000 respectively, with their schools will receive half of the amount of their prizes.
The top ten groups came from Ateneo de Manila University, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology and Wesleyan University in Nueva Ecija. Alfred Bayle
