Users have been recently experiencing intermittent downtimes on Facebook. Its news feeds become completely empty of posts despite repeated attempts to refresh the page. Thankfully, the issue appears to be dying down.
The outage was initially reported to have been concentrated in Europe, along with a few spots in the United States. Later on, as Europe begins to recover, outages moved down to Asian countries, particularly Malaysia and Indonesia. Australia also experienced some outages, Reports The Next Web.
The latest update from DownDetector shows that the conditions on the affected areas are slowly going back to normal. Red on the map below indicates the concentration of incidences, while yellow shows where reported issues have become lighter.
Facebook’s status page also showed the hours when Facebook has experienced downtime.
For those who have experienced downtimes on FB, worry not because it’s not your internet nor app that’s the culprit. Users expect Facebook to have this sorted out soon, and for the social network to release an official statement as to what exactly transpired. Alfred Bayle/JB
