LOOK: Ubisoft PH hiring full-time ‘video game testers’

1

Growing up, our parents usually reminded us about the “dangers” of playing video games for too long. But lo and behold, those long gaming hours may have their rewards: full-time jobs in the video game industry.

The Philippine branch of the multinational video game publisher Ubisoft is looking for full-time game testers to join its Testing & Quality Management team.

As posted in its official Facebook page on Monday, the company is searching for individuals with keen eye for details, who will be tasked to monitor and report several bugs in their games.

Despite sounding like the gamer’s ultimate dream job, the task is not all fun and games, as interested participants are subjected to several responsibilities.

They must be able to perform daily smoke tests to ensure stability of each build, and write clear reports on findings and communicate status to the wider team, among other tasks.

Also, applicants must be willing to work in the company’s studio in Santa Rosa, Laguna, and at least possess a minimum of two years in games and software testing experience.

Ubisoft, which is based in Rennes, France, is responsible for some of the most popular gaming franchises today including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Prince of Persia and Watch Dogs.

The company has 30 locations worldwide and its workforce comprises 94 nationalities speaking 55 languages.  Khristian Ibarrola /ra
