Google’s Gmail app remains one of the most dependable email application services today.
However, it does not support the transmission of large files, which often leads to users opting for other tools like Google Drive and Dropbox.
Finally, the tech giant is improving its email services by doubling the size of file attachments that users can receive.
“Sending and receiving attachments is an important part of email exchanges,” the announcement on the official Google Blog stated.
From the previous limit of 25MB, users will now have a 50MB leeway, which is perfect for high-resolution photos, presentations and Photoshop files.
Despite the changes, the maximum size for an outbound attachment remains at 25MB.
Meanwhile, Google’s latest update seems to address issues of many workplaces and individuals who are restrained from switching to Gmail and G Suite due to their capacity concerns.
The Gmail storage update is expected to be rolled out in the coming days, with Google reminding users to monitor their messages, since 50MB attachments will clog up inboxes at a higher rate. Khristian Ibarrola /ra
