The Nintendo Switch is currently the hottest gaming console in the market. Yet word has it that a hacker has already cracked the Switch’s code in less than two weeks since the console’s launch.
A hacker with the handle “qwertyoruiop” claims that he has successfully cracked open the Switch’s software. He posted a photo on Twitter of a Switch with his name and the word “Done” written on the screen, reports Business Insider.

The hacker further accentuates his point by having the Switch sit atop a laptop that’s displaying some code on the screen.
Apparently, the hack was done through a hidden browser on the Switch. The hacker used a slightly tweaked jailbreakME iOS Webkit exploit to accomplish his task.
Security websites have claimed that “qwertyoruiop” is known for a number of past jailbreaks on various versions of the iOS and has played a part on the PlayStation 4 1.76 version hack.
Browsers have often been used for exploits to bypass security measures implemented on electronic hardware. However, it is not yet clear whether pirated games will be enabled through the hack.
In any case, Nintendo could simply ban users with modified Switch consoles from the eShop, just like what they did with modified 3DS units. Alfred Bayle/JB
