24 Oras Theme METAL VERSION! - JOEY MUHA

Taking his percussional skills to the hardcore stage, a Canadian drummer has blown away Filipinos with his covers of several Filipino news programs’ theme songs and commercial jingles.

Joey Muha, of Ontario, first became an online star with his covers of random shows’ theme songs and pop hits including Spongebob Squarepants’ theme song, The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down” and the Super Mario theme song.

For the past few months, however, Muha has experimented with some of the catchy theme songs of the Philippine noontime show “Eat Bulaga” and tracks from flagship news programs “24 Oras” and “TV Patrol.”

Not only that, Muha has even covered several ditties that are deeply affixed in Filipino pop culture including the nursery rhyme “Tatlong Bibe,” Milo’s “Energy Gap” and Bear Brand’s “Micronutrient Deficiency.”

He uploaded his covers on his YouTube, Facebook and Instagram pages, which have swiftly piled up thousands of views and cheers from Filipino netizens.

Muha is currently a drummer for Liteyears, a Toronto-based pop quintet formed last year.  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
