Video of irate passenger confronting driver, co-rider goes viral

A video of a car-pooling passenger who became irritated with the driver and who later exchanged heated words with a co-passenger has gone viral on the internet.

Uploaded on Monday by Gee San Pedro, the video has already garnered over 3 million views and earned thousands of comments from netizens.

The lady passenger fumed at the driver, accusing him of making her wait as he went to a wrong pick-up location. As they made their respective points, San Pedro, who was seated at the back, butted in and took the side of the driver, in the process earning the unidentified woman’s wrath.

The woman, further agitated by her co-passenger’s joining the fray, kept on telling the driver to “shut up” because “wala kang alam” (you know know nothing).”

A composed San Pedro told the woman that she should not be angered because she used a passenger-sharing app (Uber pool), but when the lady ignored him, he slammed her saying, “Nagagalit ka (Are you mad)? Buy your own car.” All the while, San Pedro was video-recording the whole thing.

As the lady kept on telling him to”shut up,” this time with a higher-volumed voice, San Pedro lost his composure and slammed the lady, “You cannot shut me up because bastos ka (you’re rude).”

But the woman could not be cowed. San Pedro then lectured her: “Hindi ka dapat nag-Uuber dapat nagta-taxi ka, ‘yang ugaling ganyan pang taxi ‘yan, Miss (You should not be using Uber, you should be riding a taxi, your kind of behavior fits that of a taxi rider).”

The woman has since been the subject of bashing on social media. San Pedro, on the other hand, has gained massive netizen support for standing up for the driver and trying to put sense into the rude passenger.
