Samsung smartphones are known for the amount of bloatware and proprietary apps that come with every purchase. Thankfully for the Galaxy S8, Samsung  will be breaking tradition and going with the Google Play Music app for music playback, along with other bonuses.

In an announcement made by Google, new owners of the Galaxy S8, S8+, as well as other Samsung phones and tablets, will be given free upload and streaming of up to 100,000 of their own songs to Google Music Play. That’s twice the amount that everyone else gets when they download the Google Play Music app.

Google is also collaborating with Samsung to add special features on Google Play Music that will be exclusive to Samsung customers.

Additionally, new Samsung phone and tablet users will get a three-month trial of Google Play Music. This gives access to 40 million songs and thousands of curated playlists similar to Spotify. This is also bundled with access to YouTube Red for ad-free video streaming.

But as they say in TV shopping channels, theres more: Google Play Music will also be able to integrate with Samsung’s proprietary intelligent interface Bixby. Like the Google Assistant, users can just ask Bixby to play their favorite song.

Just when you thought the Galaxy S8 couldn’t get any better, Samsung sure is pulling all sorts of tricks to entice buyers. Alfred Bayle/JB
