With 6-inch phablets becoming more available in the market, tablet devices have taken a back seat in the priority list for manufacturers.
Despite the trend, Huawei recently launched two new tablet devices, the MediPad M3 and T2.
The MediaPad M3 is the top-of-the-line model and is an 8.4-inch device that’s only 7.3mm thick. It also comes with an Intelligent Ultra 2K display. Thanks to this, items on screen appear crisp and the colors are vibrant.

Given the M3’s size, it would be a shoe-in as a mobile gaming device. It also helps that under the hood is Huawei’s Kirin 950 processor, clocked at 2.3GHz and partnered with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The tablet’s role as a gaming device is accentuated further by a generous 5100mAh lithium polymer battery. Specifications indicate six hours of 3D gaming, but that remains to be seen in actual use.
The mini-USB port and SIM slot can be found on the bottom part of the M3. It supports a hybrid tray where users can opt to have two SIM cards or a combination of one microSD and one nano SIM.

On the opposite end of the spectrum is the smaller and more humble 7-inch MediaPad T2. Less beefier than the M3, the T2 is equipped with a 1.5GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor and 1GB of RAM.
While the T2 may not be as capable as the M3, it can still fill the role of a mobile multimedia device, thanks to its 4100mAh battery.

The Huawei MediaPad M3 is priced at P18,990 while the MediaPad comes in at P7,490.
People who still prefer a tablet over a phablet now have two more options to choose from. The M3 is a powerful device that’s geared for entertainment and gaming, while the T2 offers mobile multimedia entertainment at a friendlier price. JB
