The internet’s beloved 2D-girl-loving otaku penguin Grape-kun was given a once in a lifetime chance to meet the voice actress of his anime waifu Hululu.

According to Ota-suke via Crunchyroll, voice actress Ikuko Chikuta, voice of Hululu the Humbolt penguin from anime series “Kemono Friends”, came to Tobu zoo in Saitama as part of a hands-on educational event about Humbolt penguins. It was the first edition of “Yamada-oniichan’s Penguin Talk.”

Grape-kun is a 20-year old male Humboldt penguin that came to the internet’s attention when he showed strong interest for a cardboard standee of anime character Hululu from the show “Kemono Friends”.

“Kemono Friends” is a recent anime hit which stars a cast of zoo animals depicted as cute or “moe” anime girls.

Amusingly enough, Grape-kun doesn’t appear to be particularly pleased being manhandled by some 3D woman. Alfred Bayle/JB
