You’ve probably seen them around: big floppy tube-like inflatables waving around in front of shopping centers or car dealerships. Now, imagine a pair of them duking it out mano y mano.
“Inflatality” is a game dedicated to these attention-grabbing inflatables called “tube men” or “wavers.” The game allow players to each control a customizable “tube man” and battle for the attention of shoppers and passersby.
The game was made by independent developers Hojo Studio and was introduced in 2015 at the PAX (originally known as Penny Arcade Expo) Australia gaming festival. It is now on Steam Greenlight and awaiting community votes, reports Kotaku
Like their real-world counterparts, the battling tube men are anchored in place to a fan that blows air from below. To battle, players use the air from the fan in an attempt to maneuver their inflatable tube men closer to the other. Once close enough, players may control the arms to land hits until the opponent’s life bar reaches zero. The match ends when the opposing tube man is blown off its fan anchor.
It’s easier said than done because of the in-game physics, but still rather fun as shown through this video from YouTubers Sedge and Dan.
Steam Greenlight is a section in Steam where developers put up their games and the community can cast votes. Once a game has acquired enough votes, Valve determines whether it is appropriate to be added to the Steam digital game marketplace. Alfred Bayle/JB
