WATCH: ‘Shadow of the Colossus’ for PlayStation 4 revealed

“Shadow of the Colossus” was one of the most well-received games for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) game console. So much so that it was remastered with HD graphics to support 1080p capable displays and re-released on the PlayStation 3 (PS3). The game was praised for its emotional journey, minimalist design and immersive gameplay.

The recent Sony presentation at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017 in Los Angeles unveiled a new and possibly full remake of the classic game.

A quick review of the trailer for the PS4 version shows big improvements in graphics quality and high dynamic range rendering over the remastered PS3 Colossus game.

Shadow of the Colossus was initially released in 2005 for the PS2. It was made by the Japanese developer Team ICO under SCE Japan Studio and was published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The story follows protagonist Wander in his quest to resurrect a girl named Mono by defeating sixteen colossi in the forbidden land.

The game’s release date was not specified but the trailer hinted that it will be out by 2018. JB
