WATCH: ‘Monster Hunter: World’ set for worldwide release in 2018

A new “Monster Hunter” game in development was recently announced by video game developer Capcom at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2017 in Los Angeles. It is being scheduled for a 2018 release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC version that will be made available at a later date.

“Monster Hunter: World” will be the first new “Monster Hunter” game to be released for home game consoles in nine years when it debuts in early next year.

The new game will feature an online multiplayer system that would allow players to drop-in on an ongoing quest started by other players. Capcom also highlighted seamless transitions between areas, as well as various survival tools that “allow new levels of freedom in hunting.”

The original “Monster Hunter” game was released in 2004 for the PlayStation 2. All games in the “Monster Hunter” series are a combination of action and role-playing game genres. It puts the player in a fantasy-themed world where they are tasked with completing quests by hunting down various monsters.

PlayStation 4 owners will be in for a treat as Capcom has teased on special content that will be unique for this game console. Details on this will be announced soon. JB
