A google search of “best torrenting sites” yields the following suggestions. Screen Grab from Google.

So much for Google’s supposed abhorrence for torrents, or illegal web browser-based  downloading sites.

The search engine network’s highlighted answers feature has certainly made it easier for internet users to classify any subject they please.

But for a site adamant on ridding the internet of illegally downloaded material, Google seems to be helping the cause by offering a listing of the top torrent sites available today.

According to Torrent Freak, a simple Google search for  “torrent sites” or “best torrent sites” yields results of several unlawful networks, including the “The Pirate Bay” “Rarbg,” and 1337x.”

Furthermore, googling the words “best streaming sites” will both show legitimate brands like Netflix and Hulu and pirating sites like Putlocker and Alluc, which help out people looking to save money on subscription fees but clearly violate copyright restrictions.

Meanwhile, Google addressed the unwarranted field results and claimed that it’s not the company’s intentions to promote and highlight such torrent sites.

“These results are generated algorithmically, but in this particular case, do not reflect what we had in mind for this feature, and we are looking into it,” a Google representative told The Verge.  Khristian Ibarrola /ra
