Twitter users get creative with new 280-character limit

Users of popular social media network Twitter may have noticed longer than usual tweets lately.

Twitter rolled out its 280-character limit for nearly all of its users on Nov. 8 and netizens have been having a field day.

Television host Gretchen Ho warned users who were just about to check their feeds for the first time since the change.

Brands are also jumping in on the craze.

Sports accounts have also joined in on the fun.

America’s most famous Twitter user, US President Donald Trump, used his first 280-character tweet to describe his activities during his trip to Asia.

Following the update on character limits, some users opted to bring the attention of Twitter to another feature that they felt the social media giant should implement.

According to Twitter Product Manager Aliza Rosen, they made the change after studying user data to improve the experience of Twitter users.

“We’ll continue listening and working to make Twitter easier for everyone while making sure we keep what you love,” she said. /je
