Wanting to hide a certain word because it either bothers you or you think it’s inappropriate online? Facebook may soon have a solution for you.
The social media site revealed it is currently testing a “Keyword Snooze” option, planned to be an addition of News Feed post controls. Facebook announced the plan yesterday, June 27.
“Ever read a spoiler online before you’ve watched the last episode of the season? Or maybe you waited years for a movie sequel only to have your favorite blogger reveal the ending? We’ve all been there,” Facebook’s News Feed product manager Shruthi Muraleedharan said in a statement, explaining the value of the new feature.
Users can find the option at a post’s upper right-hand menu. From there, “Keyword Snooze” hides the posts coming from a person, group or page containing that word for 30 days.

“Even though we work to show you the most relevant posts on News Feed, we don’t always get it right,” Muraleedharan said. “We hope that with additional options to help tailor your News Feed experience, you’ll be able to spend more time focusing on the things that matter.”
For now, users may use other options regarding News Feed posts such as “See First”, “Unhide”, “Unfollow” and “Snooze”. JB
