Tencent Games is set to release a new mobile version of Ragnarok Online, the company announced during the digital entertainment expo ChinaJoy 2018 held from Aug. 3 to 6 in Shanghai, China.

The upcoming new mobile version, “Ragnarok Online: Love At First Sight”, is a collaboration of Tencent Games, Dream Square and Huanle Entertainment, MMO Culture reported yesterday, Aug. 6.

Dream Square is the same company behind “Ragnarok Mobile: Eternal Guardians of Love” which was launched in 2017.

The game trailer featured during the expo shows a 3D environment similar to that of the PC game. Aside from improved graphics, fans can also expect new features, such as day and night cycles, weather changes and a player-versus-player (PvP) mode of up to 20 players. A release date has yet to be announced.

This version is not to be confused with “Ragnarok M”, the mobile game by XingDong Limited and Gravity, which are available in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Macau. XingDong and Gravity’s version is up for a release in the fourth quarter of this year, after being postponed from a third-quarter launch. Niña V. Guno/JB
