The next major Windows 10 update, initially scheduled for April, will be released at the end of May 2019, according to Microsoft. One of the main highlights will be the ability for users to manage the download or not of future security updates according to their importance.
Microsoft will finally give users of the operating system more control over future updates. As of the next “Windows 10 May 2019 Update,” users will be informed that an update is available and recommended, but that it will be up to them to decide whether or not to install it.
In fact, Windows 10 will now allow you to suspend monthly and feature updates up to 35 days. After the 35-day pause periods, users will have to update their device before again pausing updates. On the other hand, to prevent unwanted restarts due to updates, users will now have the option to let Windows Update adjust intelligently, with active hours based on their usage patterns.
The idea is that Windows 10 automatically removes updates that cause start-up problems and other bugs that prevent the personal computer from working properly, especially if automatic recovery attempts fail. Along the same line, Windows could also automatically install some security updates.
Members of the Windows Insider program will be able to take advantage of this update starting in mid-April. CE/JB
