Tamiya has introduced a new kit modeled after one of the Philippines’ iconic figures — the jeepney — to commemorate the Asia Challenge 2019 to be held in Manila.
The Brickyard, a store for hobbyists, revealed the new model in a Facebook post Sunday night, June 2.
“To commemorate the Asia Challenge 2019 In Manila, brought to you by Lil’s Hobby Center, the Brickyard and Tamiya, a Philippine icon immortalized in a Mini 4WD kit,” the announcement read. “It is about time!”
This specific model boasts a strong red color, complete with a plate number and signature jeepney art. Taking a closer look at the details shows that it even comes with a jeepney route — a Parañaque-Makati-Quiapo route.
The new release, dubbed as “Dyipne,” is slated for release on June 6, by which time the selling price will also be announced, according to BrickYard.
The Asia Challenge 2019, a racing event for hobbyists, will be held from June 20 to 23. JB
