MANILA, Philippines — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) is set to launch in July a mobile app that aims to help its graduates land a temporary job in just a click away.
Tesda Director General Isidro Lapeña announced on Wednesday that the agency would have a full-operational “911 TESDA” within the year, after its target launch in July.
Lapeña said that the app would be developed by a third party company. He also said that a memorandum of understanding has already been signed together with nine online manpower service providers.
“It will operate just like a Grab. Yung Grab ‘di ba very convenient for everybody, kapag tinawagan mo yung Grab, kung ano yung taxi na pinakamalapit sa location mo, siya ang ipapadala sa inyo,” Lapeña explained during the Kapihan sa Manila Bay media forum.
“It will work the same way. Ang target namin ay itong July. We might be able to launch this July,” he added.
The fee for Tesda services is still on talks by the working group, but Lapeña said that current charges on labor works will be considered.
