Netizen Corina Bandin heartbreakingly shared on Facebook how she lost her dog on August 17, before they even got to celebrate International Dog Day.
According to Bandin, Clong, her dog, was accidentally hit by a train after its foot got stucked on a gap at the rail tracks near their house in Manuguit Street, Tondo, Manila.
Bandin said Clong usually stays at their house. That day however, her father allowed Clong to go outside to pee.
“Natamaan isang paa mo tapos may kaskas sa dalawa…Nanlulumo akong lumapit sa’yo,” she said.
(Your legs were badly injured. I was sad when I approached you.)
When Clong was taken to the veterinary clinic, Bandin said the vet told her that it’s better to just put Clong “to sleep.” Not wanting to give up, she refused and took Clong to another clinic. But after a couple of tests, the vet also told her the same.
“Pinagdedecide na kami ni doc dito. Sinuggest na nga niya na i put to sleep ka nalang, para hindi ka na rin mahirapan pa,” wrote Bandin.
(We are being asked by the doc to decide now. He is suggesting that we put you to sleep. So that you will no longer suffer).
This time, she did not refuse and Clong was put to sleep.
Bandin’s post easily went viral online as netizens continue to sympathize and pour words of encouragement.
