The Isle of Armor, first in a two-part expansion for Nintendo Switch hit “Pokémon Sword & Shield,” arrives on June 17.
Like its predecessors, the environment of “Pokémon Sword & Shield” is inspired by real locations. In this case, Galar is based on an idyllic Great Britain.
Now there’s a chance to explore a little further afield, as the Isle of Armor resembles the Isle of Man, situated between Britain and Ireland.
In the Isle of Armor expansion, players can expect to find almost half a dozen new environments, plus a new selection of Pokémon to catch and train and a new training dojo.
That dojo’s master, Mustard, runs a facility modeled after traditional Japanese training centers, and is connected to Leon, one of the main characters from the main “Sword & Shield” storyline.
The trailer reveals a more dangerous Isle of Armor variant of one of the original late 1990s Pokémon, the
usually peaceful Slowbro, as seen at the start of the trailer.
Releasing June 17, The Isle of Armor represents the first half of a two-part Expansion Pass. The Crown Tundra expansion is to follow later in 2020, whose snowy theme correlates to Scotland. RGA
