In 2020, no less than two billion tweets were exchanged in the world of video games, a record. This figure is up 75% in one year, as various lockdowns have been conducive to online gaming. It should also be noted that exchanges concerning eSport have increased by 14% compared to 2019.
Over the whole year, video games were the sixth most discussed topic on Twitter. The countries that tweeted most on the subject were Japan, the United States, South Korea, Brazil, Thailand, the United Kingdom and France.
