AgfaPhoto offers uber treat with new point-and-shooters

MANILA, Philippines—People are in for a treat as AgfaPhoto unveils its newest line of cameras.

Shutterbugs need not invest in specialized and expensive cameras before capturing memorable moments this summer.

AgfaPhoto, through RedDot Imaging Philippines, the European firm’s authorized distributor in the Americas, the Middle East and several countries in Southeast Asia, has introduced new digital devices that include point-and-shooters, bridge models and a high definition camcorder.

All camera models, except for the entry level Precisa 1430 model, are bundled with productivity software from ArcSoft, which will allow a user to easily manage photos and convert images and videos to 3D. Special 3D glasses are also provided.

FEATURED STORIES

The Selecta 14 and 16 are bridge cameras with interesting features. Depending on the model, each device may be equipped with a 14 or 16 megapixel charge coupled device sensor for sharp images. They also offer optical zoom of up to 15 times with an equivalent focal length of 27 to 405 mm, giving users the flexibility to shoot photos from various distances.

Both models are equipped with an Optical Image Stabilization feature to minimize shakes during a photo shoot.

For those who love to make movies, the cameras can capture videos with the following resolutions—640 X 480 pixels and 320 X 240 pixels at 30 fps and 15fps. The videos may then be uploaded at any social networking websites.

The Selecta 14 and 16 models will retail for P8,995 and P9,995 respectively.

AgfaPhoto also introduced point-and-shoot models—the Optima 145 and Optima 147. Both are equipped with 14-megapixel CCD sensors, with optical zoom of 5 times and 7 times, respectively.

Both models also feature embedded technologies such as face, smile and blink detection, panoramic stitching and red-eye removal, auto scene and image stabilization.

These models will retail for P4,995 and P5,995, respectively.

AgfaPhoto’s entry level point-and-shooter, the Precisa 1430, can capture 14 megapixel shots and is equipped with three times optical zoom. Price is set at only P2,995.

Lastly, the eClipse Explorer is a waterproof (up to 16 feet) camcorder. It is also shockproof and can withstand a drop from 5 feet.

This camcorder is equipped with four times digital zoom and image stabilization feature. It is capable of capturing HD video—1080 pixels at 30 fps, 720 pixels at 60fps or 30fps. Its retail price is P5,995.
