More Globe MSME, enterprise accounts now on VoLTE/VoWiFi
Globe’s relentless efforts to bring the latest technology to improve customers’ mobile experience has made it possible for almost all of its business accounts to be provisioned with Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) and Voice Over WiFi (VoWiFi) services.
As of July, 97% of the company’s micro, and small and medium enterprise (MSME) accounts are now on VoLTE capable devices. It was a significant leap from the 69% achieved last June. Globe aims to provision all of its business postpaid lines with VoLTE/VoWiFi by the end of year.

For its Enterprise or big business clients. Globe has already provisioned 98% of them with VoLTE and VoWiFi. One out of two customers are now using VoLTE.
Average dropped call rates for both services improved to 0.9% from 1.93 percent for VoLTE and 1.02 percent for VoWiFi in June.

“Connectivity is crucial for our business clients. We enable them to rise and thrive amidst these challenging times through our reliable VoLTE and VoWiFi services,” said Issa Guevarra-Cabreira, Globe Chief Commercial Officer.
VoLTE is the standard high-speed wireless communication for mobile phones using 4G LTE instead of the traditional voice networks being used by 2G and 3G.
Compared to the old voice services of 2G and 3G networks, VoLTE has many advantages. It has three times more voice capacity than 3G and up to six times more compared to 2G, allowing the network to accommodate more customers placing calls at the same time, enabling faster call set-up, providing clearer voice quality, and lower instances of dropped calls.
VoLTE also allows clients to simultaneously connect to the internet while on a call.
An added complement to VoLTE is Voice over WiFi (VoWiFi) or WiFi Calling, which helps address indoor mobile coverage problems such as voice calls affected by the distance between the mobile phone and the nearest network tower, building walls that block wireless signals, and poor signal inside a home or building. Depending on the capacity and signal strength of their WiFi service and a VoWiFi-capable mobile phone, VoWiFi can resolve these concerns because customers can use their existing WiFi connection to make phone calls.
VoLTE and VoWiFi calls work just like regular calls and are charged like regular calls (unli VoLTE and VoWiFi calls apply if registered to a Globe unli call promo). VoWiFi also work on any WiFi network.
“We will continue to monitor performance and provide progress updates as we reach full adoption for all of our business accounts and partners in the coming months,” added Cabreira.
