With an estimated USD 134M domestic data center market and multiple nations around the globe embracing space technology, DFNN sees a tech-savvy Philippines as a potential key player in the industry.

The tech company is optimistic that investing in stronger technological capabilities will not only provide Filipinos with greater access to tech but also help the local tech sector become more competitive with what other markets can offer.

“As a population, we take positively to innovations that push us further towards the digital space. This company started out on the belief, of using technology to change how industries and individuals work for the better. Since then we’ve always been driven by that principle,” says DFNN Chief Executive Officer, Calvin Lim. “Today, we’ve come a long way in maximizing technology – but there’s always more work to be done in terms of both access and infrastructure,” he admits.

Earlier this year, DFNN already made commitments to invest further in data centers alongside their partners in Silicon Valley. These aim to boost their current platforms and software solutions, by making use of more powerful and cutting-edge innovations that are already being used by many companies in the California-based tech region. The new data infrastructures will improve DFNN’s overall information storage and management, security, and access, allowing them to provide better services to their many local clients.

In addition, the company is now also putting a larger focus on both space technology and space sustainability, particularly involving artificial intelligence and capability expansion. DFNN sees a great opportunity to invest in the continually growing USD 366B industry, and be one of the first Southeast Asian nations to join the space race for tourism and exploration beyond Earth.

Investing early in these growing technologies is a way of being forward-looking, especially knowing how influential technology can be in creating major industrial shifts and breeding innovation among companies and entrepreneurs. By being the local pioneers of these new infrastructures and innovations, DFNN hopes to move the needle for future-proofing the entire local tech landscape.

“As an industry, I still don’t see that we’ve reached our full potential. Looking at Filipino consumers, while access has improved greatly over the past decade alone, many technological innovations are still contained within certain areas or regions,” Lim says. “Meanwhile, from a professional perspective we know that the local IT sector is extremely strong and keeps growing, so taking the industry to a globally competitive scale should be the next step,” he adds.

How will support for data centers and space technology better the Philippines? To DFNN, the answer is simple – it gives them the opportunity to provide improved services to their customers and clients, while at the same time leading the charge for more companies and industries to do the same. As we head into another global digital revolution, DFNN wants the Philippines to be prepared to grow its own capabilities, but more importantly to play with the big names in the international space.
