CEO Jon Stark said, “The keyboard knows how hard you press, and you can change that pressure profile.”
He pointed out its potential for video games and other activities like video editing. Nowadays, you may find Peratech’s keyboard for gamers in the Lenovo 7i and 7 notebooks.

The company’s head compares existing game controls to pressing up, down, left, and right to drive a car.
Nobody would drive such a vehicle in the real world, but gamers do it when playing their favorite titles.
Peratech’s keyboard would enable gamers to control in-game automobiles like in real life. A gamer could gently push the W key to move a car forward slowly.
Then, the player could press harder to simulate heavily stepping on the gas pedal. Thus, the vehicle would quickly accelerate.
Gamers could have that much control by attaching steering wheel and pedal accessories to their laptop.

Stark hopes that Peratech’s keyboard for gamers will provide the controller experience without accessories.
Even better, the CEO explained that it could help with non-gaming features. For example, Jon Stark said the keyboard could work for video editing.
Part of editing clips involves scrolling or “scrubbing” through multiple samples to select specific segments. Then, an editor may zoom into samples to select seconds and milliseconds.
These steps usually involve multiple steps with the mouse wheel and right-click drop-down menus.
In contrast, the force feedback keyboard would allow users to zoom in and scrub slower simultaneously.
Someone could modify these settings with a push of a button and control the speed with a single finger. As a result, video editing may become a more intuitive experience.
The Peratech keyboard installs an app that enables users to assign functions and sensitivity for the W, A, S, and D keys.
